Castrol Classic XXL40 is a premium SAE40 monograde oil. Formulated with high quality mineral oils, plus carefully selected additives, it is ideally suited to older technology and classic car and motorcycle engines.
For pre-1950 cars and pre-1970 motorcycles
Recommended for single and multi-cylinder engines under road and competition conditions
Winter use in engines with high oil consumption
Also recommended for many single and multi-cylinder pre 1970 classic motorcycles for engine and gearbox lubrication

Castrol Classic XXL40 is designed for older classic vehicles with a traditional guaze oil filter. It is commonly used as a ‘summer’ oil, but is also useful in winter in engines that have a high oil consumption. Original handbook recommendation for many classic motorcycles with roller main bearings. The balanced low detergent formulation prevents build up of metallic ash - in older engines with traditionally high oil consumption, ash can cause detonation and pinking.
